SMLT question

am researching about SMLT. but am having trouble understanding something
assuming a dual homed switch to the 2 SMLT switchs want to forward a frame
how he choose to witch switch he should forward the frame and according to what he make the decision ? is the shortest path that it;s chosen, or an algorithm used to pick a path ?

Thank You.

P.S: assuming the 2 bridge switchs lead to the same destination
