DHCP Question

Hi ALL,

I am managing somewhat a heterogeneous network with some residential apartments included in the network.

I have an adsl router serving these apartment flats which are configures with dhcp. Always i gets problem with users connecting their own wireless routers/access points with its own DHCP running, on the network outlet in a wrong way. This causes the other clients getting IP from those DHCP servers and not from my router.

Its a big network with multiple switches and practically impossible to find and solve it.

So my question is that in any way i could install some managed switch or so to enable clients to get ip from only my router.... How can i find not so expensive switch which can do this.

Thanks in advance....Manoj

You need managed switches with access control list (ACL) capabilities.
The most common switches of that type are made by Cisco. They are not inexpensive. You then allow DHCP access from your own server and deny access to all others.
