Newby zoning question

Hey everyone,

New to the forums and so far really enjoying it.

I have a question about zoning. I am new to SAN technology and I have been readying a lot about hard zoning and soft zoning. My question is hard zoning seems like it takes a little more administrative work up front, but sounds like it is a much better way to keep you san infrastructure organized. So why would you want to use soft zoning or a mix of the two? And in what type of condition would you want to use a mix of both.

Thanks guys

Perhaps this white paper will help explain the zoning methods.
